Sand Master Park is truly the worlds ‘first of it’s kind’ sandboard operation founded in the year 2000. Born from the vision of sandboard pioneer, Lon Beale aka Doctor Dune. Sand Master Park has introduced sandboarding to hundreds of thousands of people since it’s opened it’s doors to the public. “I took up sandboarding in 1972 and it has been a big part of my life ever since” relates Beale. “It has been a real joy to share sandboarding with thousands of interested ones and hundreds of thousands online”.
Over the years a good number of champions at local to international levels have risen from the ‘family’ of Sand Master Park. Often these dedicated sandboarders have worked with us teaching lessons to thousands and well as helping to develop various products for our sport. These among many others have been instrumental to the progress of sandboarding and continue to contribute to the growth and promotion of sandboarding.
All of our staff family is Guest Service certified and our instructors are certified in sandboard instruction through Dune Riders International ( DRI ) the governing body for national and international sandboarding. You may be actually taking a lesson from a DRI sandboard champion when you visit us and schedule your lesson! DRI is also a leading advocate in sand dune preservation.
Sand Master Park, along with Venomous Sandboards and Monarch Sandboards which are 2 brands produced on site, have lead the field in sandboard research and development since the first production sandboards in 1991. Venomous has developed sand sleds which have introduced the option to ride the dunes to just about anyone who may not be quite ready for the ‘stand up’ experience but still want the thrill of gliding down the dunes. It is a thrill and you won’t be disappointed!
Perhaps the most innovative development has been the invention of ‘Wet Boards’, sandboards that are made specifically for wet sand. Until this breakthrough technology sandboarding on wet sand was less than optimum or not possible at all. With these Wet Boards in our rental fleet you can literally experience sandboarding year round. It’s been a big game changer for our guests and continues to be a solid option for those who visit regardless of weather .
